24 hours later, we have converted:
- three from cohort 3
- one from cohort 2
- one from cohort 1

Because the #3 approach worked best, I used it on a few more people who had liked me before, and one of them converted almost instantly.

Clearly, the way to get ahead in life is to do good work, get noticed for it, and then pay attention to the people who pay attention to you!

Hello,
Thank you for this excellent information. I tried the code you recommened for adding the search box to the nav bar on new installation of twentyeleven and it did not work. The searh box appears below the nav bar and a custom menu is beiing used. Do you know why it does not work?

First I wish to thank you for the great tutorial. I have no clue why the Wordpress Devs have designed the theme as they have. even as a blog theme it is absolutely ugh.I am new to word press but I think I got it working correctly, however I do have a question about the tutorial. My question is, On the "A Different Approach" you state, "Open up your functions.php file and add the following lines (assuming you have an empty file)" did you mean the functions.php should be empty or just paste it all in at the end of the file? Sorry that line lost me and had to meddle with it to get it to work properly.

I decided it would be more educational to do the hosting myself (well, really on AWS). Since there is only one person on my project, as long as I don't actually destroy my source code, I think I'll be ok for now :-).

Another Git option to consider: Atlassian will host your git server for free for up to 10 users with unlimited private repos and integrations with their other tools: http://www.atlassian.com/software/bitbucket/overview
